Josh Hancock

Josh Hancock is the intersection of Hollywood and Detroit. Bringing his passion for both cars and film together, he has built a career working in both industries. As an automotive creative consultant for film and television and as a radio and television host, Josh is known for his deep understanding of how cars permeate our culture.

Josh currently co-hosts Car and Driver Radio, a nationally syndicated weekly radio show that reaches one hundred U.S. markets and XM satellite subscribers. This call-in radio show is an extension of Car and Driver Magazine.

Josh has numerous film & television credits, highlights include Casino, The Cat In The Hat and all three of the car-centric Austin Powers films. Josh has collaborated with Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Andrew Niccol, Mike Myers, Wolfgang Petersen and Steven Soderbergh.

In addition to his film & television projects, Josh advises many celebrities and other high profile personalities regarding their cars – from driving choices to growing their collections. Francis Ford Coppola said, “Josh Hancock is synonymous with cars: whenever I think of cars I think of Josh.”

He has consulted with many of the powerhouses in the auto industry such as Johnson Controls, Bentley, Audi, Nissan, Ford Motor Company and its Premier Auto Group.

His weekly series SHIFTING GEARS, a light-hearted and humorous half-hour look at automobiles and their roles in American culture, premiered on The History Channel in 2004. As well as sharing his enthusiasm for cars as on-camera host of the show, Josh also served as executive producer of SHIFTING GEARS. The first thirteen episodes will soon be available on DVD.

Josh has been featured on FOX, CBS, NBC, CNN, Inside Edition and on syndicated specials for ITV (on Reuters-TV and AP Radio affiliates). He has appeared in articles in the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, and Car & Driver.
